Odd Thomas

Odd Thomas - Dean Koontz Odd Thomas sees dead people, but he does something about it. Odd is the short order cook at the Pico Mundo Grill in Pico Mundo. He discovers a sinister plot and sets out to stop it. This book had great characters, was funnny and I could not put it down. The Elvis conversation between Terri, Stormy and Odd was hilarious.

The Alchemyst

The Alchemyst - Michael Scott At first I did not like this book. Too many names, creatures, special magic, being saved from danger by another surprise magic creature or spell. It was awful. The twins were very annoying. It was obvious that the author was throwing out an incredible amount of info because it would be necessary in later books. But the battle in Hekate's realm turned me around. I will give the second book a chance.

The English Breakfast Murder

The English Breakfast Murder - Laura Childs I didn't like this one as much as the others I have read from this series. Like I said, it was very big on cozy, very light on mystery.

The Son of Neptune

The Son of Neptune - Rick Riordan I wasn't sure I would like this series since I really loved the Percy Jackson series. I really enjoyed this one. The new characters are great. Percy starts off this book with amnesia. He makes his way to Camp Jupiter and is lumped in with the misfits. Then......a quest. Great book.

Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail - Bernadette Dunne, Cheryl Strayed I enjoy books that take people on a journey. This book takes us not only on the Pacific Crest Trail but on the journey through Cheryl's life.

The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus, #1)

The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus, #1) - Rick Riordan Did you get to the the end of the Percy Jackson series and think, "Well, now what do I read?" Fear not, the story continues! The Heroes of Olympus series starts where the Percy Jackson series left off. It's got new characters and is a little confusing at first. You kind of figure out where Jason is from pretty quickly but it is not revealed completely until the last chapter. Oh and the last line.....awesome!!!! Can't wait to start the next one!!!

The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 4)

The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 4) - Rick Riordan Except for the first one, this one has been the best in the series.

The Titan's Curse

The Titan's Curse - Rick Riordan Really great book. Kept me interested all the way through. This is the third in the Percy Jackson series and it does not dissapoint. Can wait to start the next one.

Gunpowder Green

Gunpowder Green - Laura Childs This is a good one if you like cozy mysteries. I wasn't sure I'd like this series after reading the first one. But this one was good. Characters are great and the mystery was a good one. Looking forward to the reading the next one.

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War - Max Brooks, Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Henry Rollins I thought the first half was really good. It was interesting and exciting at the beginning when the zombies first started attacking. Later sections were tedious. If you are reading this book expecting it to be like the movie, don't bother. If you like zombie books, this one is okay.

UnWholly

UnWholly - Neal Shusterman Wow. This sequel to Unwind was great. Some of the old characters return and there are some great new characters.

The Lightning Thief

The Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan great book, can't wait to read the next one.

Ready Player One

Ready Player One - Ernest Cline I really enjoyed this book. It brings back memories from the 80s. I liked the characters and the way it ended. Really good book

Death by Darjeeling

Death by Darjeeling - Laura Childs Cute, light mystery. Loved the characters.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner - Stephenie Meyer Better than the 1st three Twilight books. Finally, from the vampire's perspective.

Plague

Plague - Michael Grant Wow! This one was the best in the series yet! It's the fourth in the Gone series and this one really packs a punch. Kids are dying of this strange flu and in addition, there are these insects that are eating kids from the inside out. Drake/Brittney is back and trying to free the darkness. Water is scarce in Perdido beach and Sam and Astrid could be through. Some unlikely heroes in a great battle.
