I love the Emersons! In this one the Emersons are warned not to dig at a certain tomb. so, of course, that's where they go. I love Emerson and Peabody but Nefret, Ramses and David are teenagers and are very involved in the mystery. Loved it!
Not as good as the others in the series. As far as Revenge of Seven goes, Seven doesn't even get to narrate any chapters. There is no revenge...she just is very angry or very sad. I like Adam being added to the group. And the Sam thing at the end.....meh. I hope the last book is better than this one.
The mystery was good. Hannah finds out what a jerk Mike is and Norman is still perfect for her. In this book, Hannah is trying to solve the murder of the local hussy, Ronni.
I have been enjoying the Odd Thomas series so much that I thought I might read another of Dean Koontz’s novels. I had read 77 Shadow Street many years ago and enjoyed it very much. When I started reading The City, I didn’t know what to think. No horror - no gore. It seemed more a coming of age novel about Jonah Kirk growing up in the 1960s. Not at all what you would expect of a Dean Koontz novel. I wasn’t even sure I liked it. But it got good and I couldn’t stop reading it and on occasion it brought me to tears. Mr. Koontz is a superb writer. I think I will add another Dean Koontz book to my list.
